British men’s footwear brand Percy Stride is celebrating two honours for its brand which champions a ‘buy British’ ethos.
The BFA’s feature member for February, secured the Footwear Friends Shoe-fitter’s Award while company founder, Danielle Wathes was recognised at South West Business’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.
Speaking of the award Danielle said: “It was truly humbling as in order to be nominated someone has to put your name forward; it’s not something you can enter yourself.” She added: I’m just so grateful to the clients that did so.”
Percy Stride prides itself on being a member of the “Let’s Buy British” community and believe it has been a boost for business.
Danielle explained: “Through our active promotion via social media and our brand’s weekly blog we’ve definitely seen a surge in locally manufactured and designed products which is great,”
In further promotion of its ‘Buy British” belief Percy Stride have collaborated with British handmade laces company The Original Laces and British repair and customisation outfit Kings of Somerset.
Danielle said: “The UK has a wealth of talent and these companies provide an attention to detail and skill which is unparalleled. We’re determined to stay true to our roots and will continue to promote and buy British.”
