World-renowned, Northamptonshire based shoe manufacturer Church have made one little girl’s design dreams come true!
Eight-year-old Demetria Jolley who attends Abington Vale Primary school was chosen as the winning entry in the British Footwear association’s ‘Design a birthday’ shoe competition, launched to mark the organisation’s 120th anniversary.
The competition proved hugely popular with more than 400 local children submitting entries for the shoe-design event, run in conjunction with Northampton’s Delapre Abbey.
Taking her inspiration from the Union Jack flag and the special BFA birthday, Demtria’s entry wowed judges so much that Church’s shoes decided to make her design into an actual shoe!
Speaking of the very special prize, Demetria said: “I am so proud of my shoes and can’t wait to see them and put them on, it’s just brilliant.”
