In 1932, our founders set up The Liverpool Shoe Company with little more than £100 base capital. The organisation began as a wholesaler but has evolved, over eight decades, into the global family of sports, outdoor and fashion brands that Pentland is today.
We own Speedo, Berghaus, Canterbury of New Zealand, Endura, Mitre, Ellesse, Boxfresh, SeaVees, KangaROOS and Red or Dead. We’re the global licensee for Ted Baker footwear, Karen Millen footwear and Kickers in the UK and have a joint venture partnership for Lacoste footwear. We’re also shareholders in other companies such as Hunter Boot, Heidi Klein and Tracksmith.
The Group is also the majority owner of JD Sports Fashion Limited, which operates over 1,300 sports, fashion and outdoor stores across 12 countries.
With annual sales of USD $3 billion across 190 countries, our brands are loved by people the world over.
We’re a third-generation, family-owned business – and we retain strong family values. We care about people, and that’s what drives our day-to-day work. This means creating products that meet the demanding standards expected by our customers. It means hiring the best people and making sure we support them to achieve their best. And it means striving to ensure that our suppliers and other partners work in the same, people-centred way.
We’re a business with guts: we speak our mind and we take risks. Happy to take the lead and to make a stand about the things we believe in, we prioritise creativity and allow people and experiences to take us somewhere new. We are always moving forward. We never say never.
