About BRIFFA
Briffa is a long-term legal associate of the BFA, specialising in intellectual property law. Briffa helps businesses in the footwear industry protect and monetise their creative work, with commercially minded and cost-effective advice.
Every creative business owns intellectual property rights in some form or other. In the context of a footwear business this includes trade marks (protecting brand names), registered designs (protecting the shape of shoes) and patents (protecting new inventions). However, these rights need to be carefully managed in order to maximise their value and ensure that they’re not infringed by third parties.
Briffa can advise on everything from setting up your new footwear business to managing an international portfolio of trade marks and its team of specialist lawyers already act for a large number of BFA members.
Briffa also specialises in a broad range of commercial agreements, particularly manufacturing agreements, distribution agreements and sales agency agreements. Whether existing drafts need to be reviewed, or new documents prepared, Briffa offers a comprehensive set of services on a fixed fee basis.
All BFA members qualify for a free consultation meeting with one of Briffa’s solicitors and a tailored follow-up advice note, just email info@briffa.com to get this booked in.
